Yep Google Docs if utterly brilliant! I use gogDocs for the iPhone to access my Google Documents on the move.Google itself have an excellent range of free products for small businesses. The best thing with the Google account is that you only ever need to create one account to access ALL of the services!

    • Thanks Iain, yep the single login across all of the G tools is excellent – I personally rely heavily on the services that Google provide for free, and seeing how shrewd they are sometimes does make me a little nervous about my reliance!

I have to admit, I haven’t yet used Google Docs. But, you have never steered us wrong so I think I will look for the download today and see what it’s all about.

    • Thanks Lesly, I believe most – if not all are ‘cloud based’ meaning there is nothing to download and install!

I’ve used Google Docs for years, both on my own and in collaboration with others. That collaborative work was made quite easy thanks to Google Docs; we were all doing some edits on a spreadsheet and it was great to be able to see everyone’s input in real time.

And now with Google Drive, I think the various documents are all the more easy to manage and organize. Downloading Word documents and working on them on my computer and then uploading them back to Google Docs is handy, for instance, as I then have access to them anywhere and everywhere.

    • Yup, Google Drive is excellent – I skip out the ‘Word’ stage altogether and just create in Google Docs, and access via Google Drive – including sharing documents with collaborators.
